WILDLIFE SAFARI (Best Season: Oct. to June)
Kumaon and Garhwal lies in the Himalaya belt to the west of Nepal in the foothills of himalaya is called Shivalik, is Corbett National Park and Chilla National Patk noted for Tigers and Elephants. Higher up are enchanting hill resorts of Kumaon-India’s lake district.
Rishikesh-Haridwar-Chilla National Park
Day 01: Arrived Haridwar and direct transfer to Rishikesh- at height of 356m, Rishi means Saint/Sadhu and Kesh is hair, place is famous for Aashrams, Ghats and Sadhus, is also starting point for treks to Himalayan pilgrimage centers. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: In Rishikesh: After breakfast drive for Kunjapuri Temple-20 kms. drive from Rishikesh, a famous historical place and temple of Goddess Parvati, clear scenery of Rishikesh town surrounded by hills on three side sand Kobra view of holy gages from the top of temple. Lunch at Kunjapuri, spend some hrs. with picturescue scenery after return to Rishikesh for sightseeing, visit some Aashrams, Sarains,Ram and Laxman Jhula(suspension bridge), Triveni Ghat, Pramarth Niketan and lastly main attraction evening Ganga Aarti of Ganga Ghat. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Rishikesh/Haridwar/Rishikesh: After breakfast proceed for Haridwar-24kms running, base of the Shivalik hills, Ganges coming down from the high Himalaya and starts its slow progress across the plains to the Bay of Bengal.Every 12 years the Kumbh Mela comes to Haridwar and attracts millionof pilgrims. Location is propitious and has many ashrams and itinerant sadhus.Visit famous goddess temples Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi can be reachedÂ by a chairlift or treks. After visit Anandmayee and Kankhal ghat. Enroute lunch and at evening visit Aarti Darshan. Return to Rishikesh and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Rishikesh/Chilla/Haridwar: Morning after breakfast drive for Chilla National Park- which is famous for cheetal andÂ tuskar elephant, full day jeep safari/elephant safari in the park, evening return to Haridwar and visit Ganga Aarti. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Haridwar/River Rafting/Haridwar: Early morning drive for marine drive starting point of River Rafting, wear life jackets and other important gears for river and start rafting between different types of rapids and waves. Fully enjoy with holy water by body surfing. Reached Rishikesh and drive for Haridwar. Evening leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Haridwar/Delhi: Morning/Evening departure for Delhi airport.
Corbett National Park
Day 01: Delhi/Corbett(6 hrs) After breakfast drive for Corbett(6hrs. running)-established in 1935 and later renamed after Jim Corbett. On the banks of the Ram Ganga River in the foothills of the Himalaya, this park is famous for its wide variety of wildlife. The park is particularly renowned for its tigers but also has elephant, several types of deer including Sambars, Panthers and much birdlife. Enroute lunch. Arrived Corbett check into jungle resort. Overnight at Corbett
Day 02: In Corbett: After breakfast leisure at the riverside or optional rock-climbingactivities. After lunch Jeep Safri/Elephant Safari in the park. Overnight at Corbett
Day 03: Corbett/Ranikhet: After breakfast depart for Ranikhet(3hrs.drive)- This hill station offers excellent views of the snow-capped Himalaya. Day at leisure to enjoy peaceful walks. The twin peaks of Nand Devi can be clearly seen. Optionally enjoy a game of golf or visit the fruit and Garden Research Station. Overnight at Ranikhet.
Day 04: Ranikhet/Kausani: Morning after breakfast drive to Kausani(3 to 4hrs.drive)-this small village is on a ridge looking out to 300km. Wide view of the Nanda Devi group of mountains.It was here that Mahatma Gandhi wrote his commentary on the Gita. Later excursion to Baijnath, a small town with distinctively carved 12thÂ and 13th century katyuri temples on the banks of river Gomti. Also visit Bageshwar, Kumaonâ€™s most important pilgrimage center which has several temples and two sacred pools. Overnight Kausani.
Day 05: Kausani/Almora/Binsar: Morning after breakfast drive for Binsar(3 to 4hrs. drive) via Almora, the cultural capital of Kumaon, established in 1560, founded by the Chand dynasty. Visit Jogeshwar, famous for the 164 ornamented temples built by the Chand rajas. Proceed to Binsar, one of the most scenic spots in the area offering excellent views of the snow clad peaks. Check into mountain resort. Overnight Binsar.
Day 06: Binsar/Ramgarh: Morning drive to Ramgarh(3hrs drive) hunting lodge via Bhowali. Check into lodge. The lodges situated amongst orchards and pine forsts. Later visit Mukteshwar, famous for its temples. Overnight at Ramgarh.
Day 07: Ramgarh/Nainital: Morning after breakfast drive for Nainital(2hrs drive)- is called to Switzerland of Asia because of the presence of so many lakes. Enroute visit lakes of Bhimtal and Sat tal. Check into resort. Evening leisurely walks around the lake past colonial style villas and the church of St. Johnin the wilderness. Walk up to Naina peak for stunning views of the Himalayas including Nandadevi or take a boat across the lake. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Nainital/New delhi:After breakfast transfer to Ramnagar Rly stn. for Delhi or Drive for Delhi(6 to 7hrs.).
